DESCRIPTION: APW - Ball Elgin, Commercial Standard, Grade 331, 16J, 18S, nickel OF original Ball Model case, white enamel SS dial, SW-LS, bull's-eye pattern nickel damascene, s#11853268. A good example of this uncommon watch, in total Elgin reserved a single run of 2000 serial numbers for Grade 331 production but it appears this full quantity may not have been actually produced as all examples we have encountered have fallen within the first 1500 numbers of this run.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, fine scratches to foot of balance cock, one plate screw with dulled finish caused by sanding, some oxide to steelwork; dial with scattered faint hls, minuscule flakes to rim of seconds-register hole; fine hands, toning to spade of hour; case shows very light wear, ample tarnish, what appears to be a name very lightly scribed to rear but no longer legible, scattered fine scratches, small ding to band at 10:30 and scattered small nicks elsewhere, no dents; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
ESTIMATE: $200 - $400
